subscribeS. Duygu Sever Mehmetoglu is a Post-Doctoral Associate and Instructor at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. She holds a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from Koç University. She previously worked for HBKU College of Public Policy in Qatar, IFRI Center for Energy in Paris, and the EU Horizon 2020 Project: FEUTURE (which explored the Future of EU-Turkey Relations). Her expertise in nuclear energy focuses on the complex dynamics that shape a country’s decision to pursue nuclear energy generation, including both pushing and constraining factors. Her broader research agenda explores energy transition, sustainable development, and energy policymaking at the intersection of climate change, geopolitics, and international relations. She has been published by major academic journals, think tanks and research institutions including IFRI, ISPI and Global Relations Forum. Along with her academic activities and publications, Duygu has also been a delegate in major platforms including Next Generation Delegates by Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Women in Energy, and Young Leaders in Energy Initiative. She received several awards including the Young Visiting Researcher Fellowship by the Embassy of France, KUTEM Best Energy Paper of the Year Award and Koç University 2021 Academic Excellence Award.
