subscribeMarcello Contestabile is Chief Economist at the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), Joint Professor at the College of Public Policy, Hamad bin Khalifa University, and Visiting Fellow at Imperial College London. Over the last 20 years he has specialized in techno-economic and policy analysis of low-carbon technologies, working at the interface between research, government and industry. Marcello has a PhD in Energy Policy and Technology from Imperial College London. Prior to that, Marcello worked as a Research Fellow at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and as a Managing Consultant at specialist energy-environmental strategy firm E4tech in London. Marcello’s research currently focuses on assessing long-term GHG emissions mitigation pathways and the development of a national cleantech innovation ecosystem.
