Bio

Ibrahim Al-Assil is a political scientist and Middle East scholar whose work spans geopolitics, political economy, governance and state evolution, and regional security. He is a Senior Fellow at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C., and a Professorial Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at George Washington University. Al-Assil brings practical expertise in conflict resolution, regional Track II dialogues, and grassroots movements. He has held fellowships at institutions including Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership and the Orient Research Centre in Dubai, and has served on the boards of the Harvard Arab Alumni Association, the Syrian Nonviolence Movement, and other strategic, diplomatic, and political risk advisory groups.
