Alexandra Soezer
Director, GORD Climate Action Center of Excellence
Bio
Alexandra Soezer is Director of the GORD Climate Action Center of Excellence, focusing on advancing the goals of the Paris Agreement through international cooperation and innovative carbon and climate finance instruments.
She was previously at the United Nations Development Programme, where she worked in different roles. In 2021, she set up Carbon Payment for Development, UNDP’s dedicated program on Paris-aligned carbon markets aiming to support cooperative approaches under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Alexandra also previously worked with MDG Carbon, UNDP’s corporate framework for carbon finance, as well as UNDP’s National Determined Contributions Support Programme. She was also previously part of the Austrian JI/CDM Programme.
Alexandra earned her PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria, and the Austrian Institute of Technology with a specialization on fluctuating micro-climatic stresses on plants.
