Bio

Mehran Kamrava is a professor of government at Georgetown University in Qatar. He also directs the Iranian Studies Unit at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. An expert on Iran, the Persian Gulf, and the politics of the Middle East, Kamrava is the author of a number of journal articles and books. His most recent books include Righteous Politics: Power and Resilience in Iran; A Dynastic History of Iran: From the Qajars to the Pahlavis; Triumph and Despair: In Search of Iran’s Islamic Republic; A Concise History of Revolution; and Troubled Waters: Insecurity in the Persian Gulf.
