Lead, Doha Global South Health Policy Initiative

Bio

Theresa Madubuko is the Initiative Lead for the Doha Global South Health Policy Initiative at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs. She has extensive experience in health systems strengthening, health workforce development, and infectious disease control. Madubuko previously worked with the World Health Organization to establish the Global Field Epidemiology Partnership and served as Chief of Staff at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, where she oversaw the operations of the Executive Office and coordinated the planning, preparation, and communication of strategic initiatives that strengthened partnerships and advanced the continent’s response to emerging health threats.
Madubuko has also consulted for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Médecins du Monde, and Technopolis Group, with a focus on policy development, capacity building, and evaluation of health programs  In addition, she has extensive academic and training experience, having lectured on the University of Liverpool’s online Master of Public Health programme and coordinated pre-service and in-service training for healthcare workers.Madubuko holds MBBS, DTM&H, MScIH, and MBA degrees from Nigeria, Liverpool, Heidelberg, and Athens, respectively.
