Nourah Shuaibi

Bio

 

Nourah Shuaibi is a nonresident fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, Head of Women’s Research Unit and an Assistant Professor of political science at Kuwait University (KU). Shuaibi is also the appointed representative to the GCC-Scandinavian Mediation Project for KU’s Center for the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies, in cooperation with the Center for International Policy Research in Doha, Qatar.

 

Previously, Shuaibi served as the President of Global Outreach Leaders, a federal non-governmental organization based in Missouri, USA (2014-2021). She also moderated NATO panels hosted by the NATO Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) Regional Centre in Kuwait and has conducted training for the diplomatic corps at Saud Alnasser Diplomatic Centre – Kuwait.

 

Shuaibi’s research interests and expertise include conflict resolution and post conflict reconstruction, political economy, security issues in the GCC, and Gulf – Europe relations. Nourah has published many peer-reviewed academic articles and other policy papers in English and Arabic. Her latest book was published in Arabic and is titled The Implications of Foreign Direct Investment: Women’s Rights and post-conflict countries.
