Mohannad T. Al-Suwaidan

Bio

Mohannad T. Al-Suwaidan is a nonresident fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs. He is the head of natural gas liquids (NGL) and chief Middle East and Africa analyst at ESAI Energy in Boston.

Al-Suwaidan research examines energy markets, trade relations between different states, and state-citizens relations within rentier states, focusing on the Middle East and Africa region. He has authored papers and book chapters on distributive politics in resource-rich states and the modalities of rent distribution.

Previously, Al-Suwaidan lectured at Tufts Experimental College. He also worked as an investment officer with the Kuwait Investment Authority and consulted for the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation in Jeddah.
