Hani Anouti

Nonresident Senior Fellow

Bio

Hani Anouti is a nonresident senior fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs. He serves as an affiliated professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI).

Anouti brings over 17 years of professional experience with the United Nations and international NGOs across the Middle East and Europe, focusing on development, humanitarian affairs, and human rights. He also has 14 years of academic and teaching experience at universities in Lebanon and Spain. His research interests include minority rights, human rights, authoritarian regimes, geopolitics, and peace and conflict in the Middle East. Anouti has spoken at numerous international conferences and workshops, including the United Nations Forum on Minority Issues, and regularly contributes articles and commentary to Lebanese and regional Arab media outlets.

He has published extensively in English, Arabic, and French, authoring academic articles and policy reports on Middle Eastern politics. His recent work focuses on shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region and the discrimination faced by minorities across the MENA region.
