North Africa Dialogues and Analysis Group (NADA)

Project Description

The North Africa Dialogues and Analysis Group (NADA) is a flagship initiative of the Middle East Council on Global Affairs’ Conflict and Security Program. It aims to provide a nuanced understanding of North Africa’s political, economic, and social dynamics at a time of significant transformation. While global attention often centers on the Middle East/Levant, North Africa faces its own set of interconnected challenges and opportunities that demand careful study and informed policy responses.

NADA brings together scholars, analysts, and regional experts to produce research and share perspectives that can contribute to effective decision-making. The initiative uses evidence-based analysis to assess emerging trends and potential risks, and while identifying opportunities for action.

NADA’s work focuses on three main areas:

  • Dialogue and exchange: The initiative will organise structured discussions and closed-door sessions where experts can share perspectives on pressing regional challenges. These sessions will create space for open debate and allow participants to explore different scenarios and potential responses.
  • Research and analysis: NADA will commission research essays, host webinars, and produce detailed reports fill gaps in knowledge and provide rigorous analysis of governance, security, economic growth, social dynamics, and regional interactions.
  • Sharing knowledge: To ensure insights reach a wider audience, NADA will present its research through podcasts, infographics, multimedia content, and public events.
